The K-3rd Grade Jr Jazz program is an instructional basketball program for boys in kindergarten through 3rd grade. Program registration includes reversible jersey and Utah Jazz game ticket. Kindergarten and 1st grade play a clinic style program with 30 minute practice followed by 30 minute game on Saturdays. The 2nd and 3rd grade leagues include a mid-week practice and Saturday game. Ball size is 28.5 (women’s). Games are played at Shoreline Jr High, Legacy Jr High or Central Davis Jr High. Registered participants are placed on teams according to the school they attend whenever possible. Carpool, friend, and coach requests will not be honored. Volunteer coaches are needed.

The Layton City Youth Cross Country program is a fitness program for youth interested in and excited about running. The Cross Country program is designed to introduce youth 9-18 years old to cross country and distance running in a fun, safe and controlled environment. A typical training session will include general introduction, overview of cross-country principles, warm-up, stretching, group run and exercises, followed by a cool down period.

Spock’s Skate Camp is for boys and girls 6-14 years old. All skill levels are welcome. Program focuses on skatepark etiquette and safety as well as learning fundamental skateboard skills in a controlled and safe environment. Must provide own skateboard. Helmet, elbow, and knee pads are required. Classes are held on Wednesdays from 9:00am – 11:00am. Sessions are available in June, July, and August.

Tackle football program for boys and girls grades 2nd - 9th (2024/2025 school year). Layton City is a member of the Wasatch Front Football League (WFFL) and follows all WFFL league rules and bylaws (www.wffl.com). Practices will begin on Monday, July 29th (subject to change). Practices are one and half hours a night, five days a week. Games begin mid-August. Games are played on Saturdays at locations along the Wasatch Front from Preston, Idaho to Kaysville. After games begin, practices are limited to one and half hours a night, four days a week. For the Jr Mite Division (2nd/3rd grade) practices are limited to 3 total hours per week after games begin. Program consists of seven (7) league games and playoffs for ALL teams. The youngest division (Jr Mite) does not participate in playoffs. Carpool, friend, and coach requests will not be honored. Participation Requirements 1. Player Registration (online or in person at the Parks and Recreation Department)* *Must be completed before the registration deadline to ensure league participation. 2. Participation Documents*** (may be turned in after player registration) o Proof of Residency (utility bill) – LAYTON, HAFB, and CLEARFIELD CITY RESIDENTS ONLY o Proof of Grade (4th quarter report card 2023/2024 or official documentation showing grade) o Physical (dated after 1/1/2024) o Current weight on player o WFFL Football Player Registration Agreement o Copy of Birth Certificate *** Must be submitted at the Parks and Recreation Office prior to equipment pick-up. Documents are NOT accepted at equipment check-out.*** Jr. Mite 2nd/3rd Grade Beginning with the 2019 season the WFFL has adopted the USA Football Modified Tackle Football rules for the Jr Mite Division (2nd/3rd grade) • Jr Mite Division will play 8 versus 8 on a smaller modified field • Each team will have a maximum four (4) coaches • Teams will have a maximum of 16 players • Game times will be 1 hour in length • After games begin, practice is limited to 3 hours per week

The Layton City Youth Volleyball program is a recreation/beginner level volleyball program. The volleyball program is designed for youth in 4th through 9th grade to play volleyball. Coaches will be assigned teams and will work with their team to instruct them on the basics of volleyball.
