Layton City is currently accepting applications to fill vacant positions on the Layton City Parks and Recreation Commission. This Commission functions as planning and advisory body to the City Council in matters pertaining to Parks and Recreation within the City.

The Parks and Recreation Commission consists of eight at-large members. This Commission is specifically tasked with advising the City Council and the Parks and Recreation Department with long range planning for Layton City parks, recreation, trails, open space, and cultural facilities within the City. This Commission also reviews current recreation programs and City events to provide critical public feedback to the City. In addition to monthly meetings, the Parks and Recreation Commission assists in several Department programs and special events throughout the year. The Commission helps create and update the Parks and Recreation Master Plan, and advises on the athletic programs.

Appointed Parks and Recreation Commission Members may serve up to three (3), three-year terms. Interested individuals should submit an application and letter of interest no later than Wednesday, April 17, 2023 at 5:00pm.
